1. Using Flavor Folio

These Terms & Conditions apply to the Flavor Folio website, iPhone and iPad app, and share extension. ‘Flavor Folio’, ‘we’, and ‘us’ mean the developer and operator of these services, reachable at [email protected]. These terms take effect on the date shown above.

By using the services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using them. You must be legally able to agree to these terms; if you have not reached the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to and supervise your use.

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Any mandatory consumer or privacy rights available under the law where you live remain in place.

2. Devices and availability

The app requires a supported Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone or iPad, iOS 27 or iPadOS 27 or later, and Apple Intelligence enabled and ready in a supported language and region. No Flavor Folio account is required. iCloud sync uses your Apple Account and is optional.

Features depend on your device, system permissions, available models, Apple’s service limits, and connectivity. Saved recipes, plans, groceries, and basic cooking features use local data. New link imports, cloud intelligence, sync transfers, and initial model downloads need a connection. Offline AI features require an available local model.

We may improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, universal import compatibility, or that every feature shown in a preview is available in your installed release. We will provide notice of material service changes where required by law.

3. Permission to use the services

Subject to these terms and applicable App Store rules, you may use the website and app for your personal, lawful recipe collection, meal planning, shopping, and cooking. The app, website design, branding, and original editorial materials belong to Flavor Folio or their respective licensors. Rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Do not misuse the services, interfere with their operation, bypass security or access restrictions, introduce malicious code, or use them to infringe another person’s rights. Do not copy or redistribute the app or our original site materials except as permitted by law or an applicable license. Restrictions on reverse engineering do not apply where the law or an open-source license permits it.

4. Your recipes and other content

You retain the rights you already hold in recipes, notes, photos, and other content you bring to Flavor Folio. Importing someone else’s material does not transfer their copyright to you. You are responsible for having the right to access, copy, adapt, and share that material, including complying with the source website’s terms and any applicable copyright exceptions.

You permit the processing, storage, formatting, synchronization, and transmission of your content only as needed to provide the features you choose, as explained in the Privacy Policy. This does not give us permission to publish your private collection or use it in advertising.

Source attribution is helpful but does not replace permission when permission is required. Sharing or exporting content is your choice and responsibility. AI-generated output may resemble other material and may not be eligible for exclusive ownership or copyright protection.

5. Imports and AI-generated results

Recipe imports, text recognition, generated ideas, variations, images, timing estimates, and cooking answers can contain mistakes or omissions. Review the full ingredients and method against the source or your own knowledge before saving, sharing, or cooking. Generated photos are illustrations and may not match the ingredients or finished dish.

Changing the serving count scales numeric ingredient quantities; it does not automatically rewrite the method, temperatures, or cooking times. Check quantities, units, substitutions, and instructions for the portion you intend to make. We do not guarantee that a generated recipe is accurate, complete, original, or appropriate for your circumstances.

6. Food safety, allergies, and timers

You are responsible for deciding whether ingredients and instructions are safe and suitable for everyone eating the food. Dietary labels, preferences, substitutions, and AI answers do not guarantee that a recipe is free from an allergen or meets a medical, religious, or nutritional requirement. Check product labels, possible cross-contact, storage conditions, and safe preparation guidance.

Flavor Folio provides general cooking information, not medical or individualized dietary advice. Follow authoritative food-safety guidance and use suitable equipment to check doneness. Timings are estimates. Timer alerts depend on device settings, permissions, and system delivery; do not rely on an alert as your only safety check or leave cooking unattended.

7. Apple and other third-party services

Apple Intelligence, Private Cloud Compute, Image Playground, iCloud, the App Store, imported websites, and sharing destinations are operated by third parties. Their terms, privacy practices, availability, and limits apply to your use of them. We do not control their content or operation, and a link does not imply endorsement.

For app downloads through the App Store, the license agreement supplied with the app and Apple’s applicable terms also apply. Where no custom app license is supplied, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies. These website and service terms do not replace that app license or override mandatory App Store rules.

The current app has no Flavor Folio subscription or in-app purchase flow. Any charges for your device, internet access, iCloud storage, or optional Apple services are governed by the relevant provider. Any future paid Flavor Folio offering will disclose its price and applicable terms before you choose it.

8. Your data and backups

Keep a separate backup of recipes that matter to you. Optional iCloud sync transfers changes, including deletions, and is not a versioned backup. A Flavor Folio recipe export includes recipe content and photos, but does not include meal plans, groceries, preferences, active cooking sessions, timers, or learned shopping order.

We do not guarantee recovery after deletion, device loss, a failed transfer, or removal of the app. Review an export before relying on it and protect the saved file. You can stop using the services at any time; review the Privacy Policy for local, iCloud, and exported-copy deletion boundaries.

9. Warranties and responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app, website, and their content are provided ‘as is’ and ‘as available’. We make no additional warranty that the services will be error-free, meet every need, or produce a particular cooking result. Any warranties or remedies that the law requires remain available.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the services, including lost profits or loss of data. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

10. Stopping use and service restrictions

You may stop using the website and remove the app whenever you choose. We may restrict access to services we operate where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security threats, or legal requirements, subject to applicable law. These terms do not grant us remote access to erase your private local recipe library.

Provisions that by their nature need to continue, including ownership, applicable responsibility limits, and rights that arose before use ended, continue to apply.

11. Changes, concerns, and applicable rights

We may update these terms as the services or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will receive notice and any agreement required by applicable law; changes do not retroactively remove rights you already have. If you do not accept updated terms, stop using the affected services.

Contact [email protected] with questions, disputes, or concerns about content before taking further action if you can. Nothing in these terms prevents you from using the courts, regulators, or remedies available under applicable law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
